How to Play Football in the Dark

Playing football in the dark is a fun and extremely challenging game. While no one can be perfect at it, if you follow these tips you will get better.

Steps

  1. First of all, decide how dark you want it. It can be anything from dim to pitch black. However, if you play it when it's pitch black, your risk of injuring yourself or others goes up (This game works best outside.)
  2. After you've decided how dark you want it to be, find a way to illuminate the endzone (putting small yard lights on the sides of an endzone would work.)
    • It's not cheating to use light to be able to see (slightly), but if you can see the offense clearly, you may want to find a darker area.
  3. Spread out like you would on offense or defense. Try to make a rough guess as to where an offensive or defensive player might be (depending on which side you're on.)
  4. Listen for the sounds of running feet. Shoes can often make a slight noise when running on grass. If you can here running feet, follow them, but make sure you aren't following your own teammate!
  5. When an offensive player gets tackled, have them shout out where they are. This will help prevent the offense from being to close or to far away from the endzone.
